Can’t Do Nuthin’ ‘Bout That Now (Let’s Get Tore Up) (The Walmart Song )

Words and music: Alvah Allen  Performed by: Alvah Allen and Ward Morford

Lyrics:

Well your daddy he won’t own you
And he’s cast you out to wander ‘neath the stars
It all may be comin’ back to haunt you
And you’ve already swum among the bars
And you cain’t do nothin’ ‘bout that now

(Chorus)
Let’s get tore up
And bang on our guitars
Let’s get tore up
Send em back to Arkansas
Let’s get tora-a-a up
And cut the heart out of this town
Let’s get tore up and burn the Walmart down
Let’s get tore up and burn the Walmart down

Well, my neighbor he used to work for Enron
But now he’s got a nice government job
Well, he just finished up with California
Now he’s lookin’ for another train to rob
And you cain’t do nothin’ ‘bout that now

Chorus

Well Pretty Boy Floyd he was an outlaw
And all of Oklahoma knew him well
But he ain’t got a thing on Katherine Harris
Antonin Scalia or Brother Jeb
And you cain’t do nothin’ ’bout that now

Chorus

We are the boys from Old Florida
F-l-o-r-i-d-a
Don’t say that we didn’t warn ya
We’ve got your economies of scale
Grab some kerosene boys and give em hell

Chorus

They don’t carry our records anyhow

Alvah! Been thinking about this tune for 20+ years. We recorded this on my gear in the 2001-3 timeframe. Played a couple open nights in five points back then. So good to hear it again after all this time.
