Language without tone is like
a really good pitch,
sometimes, you get it
but, most times, you don’t.

It’s almost always a hit or miss
proposition, especially

when she’s painting the corners,

You go .288 with two singles
and an RBI

and you think you’re having
a pretty good night.

Your manager doesn’t agree, though,
so he pulls you

in some random inning.
But, really, what does he know

about how she speaks
or how beautiful she is

for that matter.
